The Birchcliffe Centre is located in Hebden Bridge. Hebden Bridge is a market town in the Pennines, surrounded by beautiful scenery and with many specialist shops and cafes. The Birchcliffe Centre is located in a renovated former Baptist Church on Birchcliffe Road, on a hill rising out of the town centre.
The postcode is HX7 8DG and the OS grid reference is SD 995 274.
Hebden Bridge is easy to reach. It is on the A646 between Halifax and Todmorden. It can also be reached from Keighley and Haworth on the A6033.
From Halifax, come along the A646 and when nearing Hebden Bridge take the right turn signposted Keighley, just past the railway station. Take the next right again, this is Birchcliffe Road. The Birchcliffe Centre is signposted. After a sharp right hand bend look left, go past the turnings into Edward Street and Chapel Avenue and the Birchcliffe Centre is the next building. The next left turn is for the car park.
From Keighley take the A629 to the roundabout at Haworth Crossroads and turn right onto the A6033. When you enter Hebden Bridge look for the sign for the Birchcliffe Centre. Take a sharp left turn into Birchcliffe Road and follow the directions above.
By Public Transport
There are good public transport links into Hebden Bridge with Northern Rail train services from Leeds , Bradford, Halifax, Brighouse, Todmorden, Rochdale, Burnley and Manchester.
There is also a good bus services from Halifax, Todmorden (590/2 run by First Bus), Burnley (592) , Rochdale (590) and Keighley (500 run by Keighley and District).
If you are on foot the Birchcliffe Centre is a short (albeit steep) walk of about a third of a mile up Birchcliffe Road which is a junction off Commercial Street. (A6033). At present there is a half hourly daytime (hourly evenings and Sundays) local bus service from the railway station and town centre. There is a stop outside the centre. The services are 595 (daytime) and 594 (evening, NB the evening service is a circular operating in one direction only) operated by TLC. It runs from the railway station via Commercial Street and up Birchcliffe Road.
