Todmorden Tops & the Fielden Dynasty
This circular walk takes you over the hilltops to the north and west of Todmorden to enjoy a landscape forged by nature and the Fielden Dynasty.
The walk takes you up onto the hills to the north and west of Todmorden. On the way you will see how aspects of the landscape have been formed by the inhabitants of the area, chiefly lead by members of the Fielden family through the generations.

About the Trail
The walk is about 13 km (approx 8 miles) and should take about 4 hours to complete. There are two points on the route where an easy short return into Todmorden could be made..
There are two long, continuous, often steep climbs onto the hills around Todmorden. There isone short stretch with exposure to a long drop at the side of the hill.
Start & Finish:
The walk starts and finishes at the centre of Todmorden, close to the railway and bus stations as well as several public car parks. (Postcode: OL14 5AQ, OS grid reference: SD 93689 24182).
The start of the trail is best accessed by taking a bus ride from Halifax, Hebden Bridge or Littleborough or by train on the Manchester – Leeds line. If you are coming by car, there is limited car parking in the centre of Todmorden.
